KS – UD 0° or 90°

(Unidirectional Fabric)

A unidirectional fabric contains majority of the fibres in one direction, either at an angle of 0˚ or at 90˚. In order to add stability to this reinforcement, a small amount of fibre can be added in perpendicular direction to the majority of the fibre.

UD 0˚ or unidirectional fabric in Warp has the majority of its fibres at an angle of 0˚ and up to 98% of the total weight of the fabric is in 0˚ direction.

UD 90˚ or unidirectional fabric in Weft has the majority of its fibres at an angle of 90˚ and up to 98% of the total weight of the fabric is in 90˚ direction.

This unidirectional fabric can be made using any type of fibre with varying weights between 200 to 2000 g/m² and they can be stitched with a layer of Chop Strand Mat (CSM). The maximum width of this fabric can be set to 2540 mm and can be altered as per the requirement.
